Chad Beyer
Chad started road racing at 13 years old
Chad fell in love with bikes at a very young age. His first road bike was a steel frame Fuji with downtube shifters. When he was 11 years old he started to race BMX and loved the competition. Shortly thereafter, he picked up mountain biking. If it had two wheels and you could pedal it, Chad wanted to race it.
Chad started racing on the road when he was just 13 and can remember very distinctly the age when he decided he wanted to become a professional cyclist. He was 15 and at a cycling team meeting when one of his older teammates asked him what he wanted to be when he was older. Chad said, “I want to be come a mechanical engineer,“ to which the older teammate responded, “You mean you don’t want to become a pro cyclist?” It was then that light went off in his head: he realized he could do what he loved for a living. Chad’s been living the dream pretty much ever since.
